Ski in Luxury
As the popularity of skiing holidays has grown exponentially over the last few years and as snowboarding and other winter sports have also taken off, the demand for high end mountain-based holidays has exploded Scott Dunn . Holiday makers now demand just as much from their winter holidays as they do from their luxury breaks in the Maldives and Christmas breaks in the Caribbean.
Size & Capacity
Size doesn’t always matter when it comes to luxury chalets high end boutiques can be just a few hundred metres in size (see Luxury Ski Chalets). One may accommodate up to ten people, another 20 or even 30. Ski accommodation can vary in size. Eight hundred square metres is not unusual. Eight hundred metres is very large by European standards but if its size you are looking for, then the luxury chalets in America and Canada ski resorts have much more space on the mountain sides than in Europe.
So in search of a Luxury Chalet you would probably be better off finding a ski resort in America or Canada in terms of space, luxury and the amount of people who decide to take advantage of this wonderful opportunity.
Chalet Extras
Some of these luxury chalets provide Jacuzzis and spas, swimming pools, gyms and spa rooms, private balconies with fantastic views and ensuite wet rooms, games rooms and bedside log fires and hot tubes pretty much as standard in a luxury chalet these days. But there is more to consider.
Design & Decor
Design is a big deal in luxury chalets especially with the finest Italian furniture and or the most beautiful French art decor – look out for expensive silk curtains and cushions, fine polished and buff teak floors in Swiss and Austrian style. Sleek, upscale and modern decor is making a reappearance at ski resorts and all designed for a complete beautiful atmosphere for family and friends.
Staff & Service
Staff wise, the best chalets have the best staff – butler, concierge, driver, house keeper, chef, dedicated ski guides and instructors, sports therapists, nannies, nutritionists and physios. They are responsible for the luxury of detail - fresh flowers, towels and bed linen, home baked cakes and pastries every morning, the finest coffee, the best meat and fish and local seasonal produce. Some companies have even offered the services of celebrity chef consultants such as Tom Aikens, endless vintage Krug, Norland nannies, and Jo Malone beauty products.
